Eyelash tinting will enhance the general appearance of your eyes and is particularly beneficial for people who participate in sporting activities especially swimming, so it is perfect for when you are on holiday. Unlike mascara the effect is very natural – so no more panda eyes!

This is a straight-forward, quick and painless procedure using vegetable dye to tint your lashes. With a range of colours for you to choose from to enhance your lashes, your therapist will advise on which colour to use for best results. Please note you may not make your eye-lashes lighter than the natural colour.

Important: A patch test is required at least 48 hours prior to treatment. The test involves putting a tiny amount of the mixed dye onto the skin, either on the inside of the elbow or out of sight behind the ear. This is to ensure that you are not allergic to any of the ingredients used in the products. If you have had a patch test at another salon you will still need a repeat test, as different brands may cause different reactions. Please call to arrange a patch test or why not have another treatment and have a test before you leave?

Everybody’s hair is different and will shed at different rates however, as a guideline we normally say around 3-4 weeks.

Benefits of eyelash tinting:

  • Enhance general appearance of eyes
  • Great for people with known sensitivity to make-up
  • Good for sporting activities, especially swimming
  • Good for people with no time to apply make-up daily
  • Will benefit contact lens wearers
  • Good for people with fine eyelashes

What will happen during my Eye-Last Tint Treat?

Firstly all eye make-up is removed so that the tint will take. Protective shields and Vaseline are applied under the lashes and brows to protect any dye from getting onto the skin. The dye is mixed with peroxide and applied to the lashes for around 10 minutes. When all of the dye is removed you may have an eyebrow shape or tidy if required. On your first visit the dyes are only left on for a minimum time to avoid going too dark. If you are not satisfied with the result, the procedure can be repeated to give the desired result. It is better to repeat the process twice then end up with something you are not happy with. This is normally only apparent for the first session and next time you will know how light or dark you want to be.

Please inform your therapist if:

  • You have had any itching, redness or swelling from the patch test
  • Have any eye infections
  • Wear contact lenses
  • Hypersensitive eyes/skin
  • This treatment will last approximately 15 mins.

We do recommend before commencing this treatment that you have an allergy patch test at least 24 hours prior to your appointment, this is to ensure that there are no adverse effects to the treatment or products beforehand. The test takes less than a minute to undertake.

Why not treat yourself and have both eyelashes and eyebrows tinted at the same time. Both tints can seriously improve the appearance of your eyes and face, particularly teamed with a thorough eyebrow shaping.
